Paws in Padstow is a unique boutique experience for dogs & their owners.

Based at Trevisker Nurseries on the outskirts of Padstow, Cornwall, UK and opened by us (Mike & Lynz) in April 2017, Paws in Padstow offers all kinds of doggy essentials as well as quality, natural and stylish products for modern conscientious pet owners.

Our Story

Back in 2016 we'd just finished work for the week and decided to pack up the car and head to the Cornish coast with our boisterous Beagle Rocky in toe. Little did we know it would be the start of a life changing journey for us all!

We’d always wanted to run our own business but never really knew what it might be, until that weekend in Padstow when it seemed so obvious! DOGS!

Getting a dog completely changed our lives for the better, Rocky is part of the family. He’s given us so many moments of happiness and fun, we just couldn’t imagine life without him now, and we were pretty sure that anybody visiting dog friendly Padstow with their pooch would feel exactly the same way.

We moved to Cornwall in March 2017, worked hard and opened the doors to Paws in Padstow on 13th April 2017.

Since opening, Paws in Padstow has gone from strength to strength.

Three years later and Rocky and our adventures along the Cornish Coast are still a huge inspiration for the healthy, natural, quality brands we choose to retail and the way we live our lives. Sales continue to increase year on year, and our loyal pack of customers from around the world is ever expanding.

Mission

Here at Paws in Padstow we believe that dogs are part of the family. Their health and wellbeing is at the heart of everything we do, so we’ve created a unique shopping experience dedicated to the better breed of dog owner.

Our shelves are reserved for only the leading brands as well as natural, healthy, and ethically produced products which have been tried and tested by the face of Paws himself, our Rocky.

Online or instore, we pride ourselves on a service tail-ored to each individual dog’s needs, whether that be advice, support or a simple chat about what we have to offer.

Our logo has been carefully designed to represent our dedication to providing natural, healthy, high quality products. It should therefore be used with this in mind and only within, or linked to, copy which reflects these values.

The Paws in Padstow logo may be used non-exclusively and royalty free within your company’s advertising, literature and website solely in connection with Paws in Padstow or the products we retail.

To maintain clarity, the Paws in Padstow logo should not be positioned next to any other website or address details.

It should also be allowed clear space around all four sides to maximise visual impact.

Rocky

The real boss

Rocky is typically a needy and stubborn Beagle, but he is generally a good boy and loving brother to his hooman sister Ava... no matter how many times she used to try to pull his ears and tail. Now they are thick as thieves and while Ava's favourite thing to do at 2 going on 20 is to shout "EAT!!!" every 5 mins, Rocky is happy to mop up the scraps... not chocolate or grapes though! He spends most of his time following his nose looking for scraps in the bushes in the aftermath of bin collection day on a Thursday... then consequently awaits each following Thursday. Loves - Food, walkies, food, bird seed (he waits patiently below the bird feeder for it to drop), sand, sitting under the table at dinner time. Hates - Being separated from Ava, the sea (runs away from the smallest waves), being fed last.

Lauraine is great with dogs and loves to spend her time with her partner in crime and loveable collie Ty. She is predominantly qualified as a dog groomer but also has an affinity with the Paws in Padstow ethos. This understanding coupled with a keen eye for a good social opportunity makes Lauraine a valued member of our team.

Community Interest Company

Founded by father and daughter duo Rob & Emily, Beach Guardian is a community project working to reduce plastic pollution in the world's oceans. As well as going out and collecting all sorts of curious plastics from the Cornish coast line, Beach Guardian also organise community beach clean events and visit local schools to give educational talks, helping to connect people to their environment and the well-being of the planet. Paws in Padstow proudly support Beach Guardian through actively taking part in their events, as well as promoting and raising awareness of their amazing work.

K9 Crusaders

Charity

Sue and the team at K9 Crusaders work tirelessly to care for, rehabilitate and rehome dogs that have been abandoned, rescued or for a variety of reasons brought in by their owners. As a small independent charity based in Cornwall they rely solely on kind donations from the public and their dedicated team to help dogs of all breeds, shapes and sizes get back on all four paws and find their forever homes. Here at Paws in Padstow we have organised events such as our annual fun dog show to raise much needed funds and awareness, donated food and other products from our shop and acted as a drop off point for public donations such as blankets/towels/treats and toys. We will continue to support K9 Crusaders as best we can with the help of our pawesome customers who contribute generously to their cause.
